This sweet and sour sauce taste superb. It has just the right balance of sweet and sour and goes very well with fried fish or pork.
Ingredients for sweet sour sauce :
5 Tbsp tomato sauce
4 Tbsp water
3 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp Chinese Rice Vinegar
1 white onion (sliced)
2 red tomatoes (quartered)
2 tsp Cornflour mixed with 4 tbsp of water
Method :
1. Heat up wok with 1 tbsp of corn oil.
2. Add onions to saute till fragrant.
3. Add all ingredients except cornstarch and tomatoes to cook over high heat for 2 mins.
4. Add tomatoes to cook for 1 min.
5. Lastly add the corn flour mixture, stir to cook till it thickens slightly.
6. Turn off heat and pour over rice or meat or fish.
Tip :
1. Its best to use chinese rice vinegar for an authentic flavour

hi thanks so much for sharing this wonderful recipe. My family and i had it for dinner. This divine concoction accompanied me down memory lane to the times where my dear grandmother made this. (even though my fish did not turn out well it could be that the oil was not hot enough)
