The recipe for Jing Du Pork was adapted from Tham Yui Kai's Suggestions by toon. The sauce gives the pork the sweet and slightly spicy flavour.

½ tsp sugar
½ Tbsp light soya sauce
¼ tsp dark soya sauce
½ tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp five-spice powder
¼ tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp cornflour
1 egg
½ tsp apple butter (optional)
Sauce
½ Tbsp Shaoxing or cooking wine
6 Tbsp Stock or water
½ Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp tomato ketchup
½ Tbsp chilli sauce
2 tsp cornflour
Method
1. Season pork cubes with marinade for at least 3 hours or overnight in the fridge.
2. Deep fry the seasoned pork cubes in hot oil for about 2-3 min till cooked. Remove with strainer and set aside.
3. Heat up wok with a tsp oil and add in the sauce mix. When the mixture bubbles, add in pork and stir until pork are well coated with the sauce.
4. Serve hot.

hi sinner cooked tis dish for dinner last nite. unfortunately fam. didnt quite like it. the well marinated and deep fried pork was great but not the sauce. it turned out too gooey. i think 2 tsp of cornstarch is little too much. maybe i will cut down on it the next time. many thanks
Never mind, greedy. Can't win all the time. ;)
Next time if the sauce is too gooey, add more liquid to dilute it.
