I use this curry mince mainly as a pie filling. It can also be used as a curry puff filling or just served simply with rice or bread.
Ingredients
500gm beef mince
1-2 Tbsp oil
1 big onion, chop fine
3 clove garlic, chop fine
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, chop fine
2 tsp chilli paste or powder
2 potato, cubed
1 cup frozen peas or diced carrot
1 cup water
1½ tsp salt
2 tsp cornflour or potato starch mix with 1 Tbsp water or soy sauce
Spices
1 tsp tumeric powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp curry powder
Method
1. Heat a wok with the oil and fry onions, garlic, ginger and chilli paste until onions is transparent.
2. Add the dry spices, potato and beef mince. Fry until the mince is dryish.
3. Add water, peas or carrot and salt to taste. Simmer until meat is tender and water is absorb.
4. Use as a filling for pie, curry puff or serve with rice or Indian bread.
Note :
If you prefer to have more gravy, add a little bit more water when cooking the mince and thicken with more cornflour or potato starch.
Tip :
Freezing the mince makes it really easy and quick when one feel like having pie for lunch. I freeze mine in 1/3 cup portion as this is the amount required in my pie maker.

Hi Sinner - hubby does not take beef so if I used chicken mince instead, do I use the rest of the ingredients as per normal?
Family First - yes but adjust the salt to suit your own taste.
Could I use chilli flakes as I can't get paste or powder?
